Storm damage and insurance claims in Ontario
Or call (909) 738-1199Your request is in.
We are matching it now against roofing contractors working in Ontario and the surrounding area.
- Today, usually within the hour. The first contractor calls or texts the number you gave us. ASAP requests go out first.
- Up to three of them, no more. We cap it at three so you can compare without your phone melting.
- They come and look. Estimates are given after somebody has been on the roof, not over the phone.
- You decide, or you do not. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to pay us.
If you do not hear anything today, check your voicemail and spam folder — contractors often call from a mobile number.
Why this is worth a minute
What happens after you tap send
There is no phone call to make and nothing to install. It is a form, and then contractors ring you.
Answer three questions
What kind of home it is, when you want the work done, and how you are hoping to pay. Then the address, and how to reach you. That is the whole thingvolved. No essays.
Matched to nearby contractors
Independent local companies, chosen on where they work and what they specialise in. Emergencies go out first.
Real numbers, then your call
Contractors contact you directly and quote after seeing the roof. There is no fee and nothing to cancel.

You are not committing to anything. Take the numbers, use them, and walk away if you like.
Your details stay put. They go to the matched contractors and nowhere else. Never a mailing list.
Three, and no more. Enough to compare properly, few enough that your phone stays usable.
Quick, then quiet. A minute to send, and the calls start today rather than next week.
Why not just search and call three companies?
It costs you nothing
Contractors pay for introductions. You pay nothing at any point, and we would rather say that plainly than bury it.
Three quotes is the point
One price is a number without context. Three shows you where the middle sits and makes the outliers explain themselves.
Licence and insurance checked first
Contractors have to give us a state licence number and current liability and workers compensation cover before they can receive requests. Verify it yourself too.
The search results are an auction
The top of a search page is whoever bid most this morning, not whoever is nearest or best. Being first in an advert says nothing about the roof.

Roofing in Ontario: the local picture
Lots are larger here, and roofs tend to be bigger than the national average as a result. With a population near 185,285, Ontario covers about 62 square miles of San Bernardino County. It sits well inland, so the weather that matters is temperature and rainfall rather than salt.
The thing roofers see most often in this market is the autumn offshore winds, which find anything already loose. These winds are not constant, which is the problem. A roof gets nine quiet months and then one night at fifty miles an hour, and whatever was marginal goes.
Close behind that: ember intrusion through vents and open eaves. Most houses lost to wildfire are lost to embers arriving ahead of the fire, not to the fire itself.
A contractor who works this area will already know all of it. That is most of the argument for using a local one.

| Covering | Per square | Typical whole roof | Expected life |
|---|---|---|---|
| Architectural asphalt shingleThe default choice on most American homes, and usually the right one. | $650 – $1,000 | $11,500 – $28,000 | 25 to 30 years |
| 3-tab asphalt shingleThe cheapest thing that still counts as a roof. Fewer and fewer crews will install it. | $550 – $750 | $9,900 – $21,000 | 15 to 20 years |
| Impact-rated asphalt shingleClass 4 rated. Often earns an insurance discount where hail is a factor. | $850 – $1,300 | $15,500 – $36,500 | 25 to 35 years |
| Concrete tileThe tile lasts far longer than the underlayment beneath it, which is the catch. | $1,300 – $2,100 | $23,500 – $59,000 | 40 to 60 years |
| Clay barrel tileOften salvaged and re-laid over new underlayment rather than replaced. | $1,700 – $3,400 | $30,500 – $95,000 | 50 to 80 years |
What moves the number
- Where you land in the season; crews discount when the phone is quiet
- Access — a truck that cannot get near the house adds hours to every load
- The number of penetrations: chimneys, skylights, vents, solar mounts
- How many old layers have to come off before the new one goes on
- Whether the valleys, drip edge and step flashing are being replaced or reused
Common repairs
| Emergency tarp-over | $425 – $1,200 |
|---|---|
| Small leak, flashing or a few shingles | $475 – $1,300 |
| Valley, chimney or skylight reflash | $950 – $3,100 |
| Section replacement, one slope | $1,500 – $5,100 |
How these are worked out. National installed ranges, adjusted for California labour and material costs and for how Ontario is actually built. They are a sanity check on the quotes you receive, nothing more. No contractor is bound by them.

Coverage does not stop at a boundary line — the ZIP on your request decides who receives it.
Worth reading first
Short, specific, and written to be useful before you talk to anybody.
Is your roof due? A two-field check
When it was last done and what it is made of gets you most of the way to the answer. No contact details, nothing sent anywhere — the arithmetic happens in your browser.
Do not know? Use the year the house was built. That is what a roofer assumes until they get up there.
Not sure between shingle types? Architectural is the thicker, layered-looking one and is the usual answer.
What to look at, from the ground and from the attic
A guide from rated material life, not an inspection. Nothing here has seen your roof. Two roofs of the same age on the same street routinely need different things, and only somebody up a ladder can tell you which yours is.
Questions people ask
Do I have to hire anyone?
Not at all. Plenty of people use this to find out what a job costs and then do nothing for a year. That is a perfectly reasonable outcome.
What if the decking is rotten underneath?
Expect a few sheets on most older roofs. Get the per-sheet rate in the contract. Open-ended decking charges are where a fixed price stops being fixed.
Can I just put a new roof over the old one?
Often you legally can, and it is usually a poor idea. Overlaying hides the condition of the decking, adds weight, shortens the life of the new shingles by trapping heat, and doubles the cost of the next tear-off.
Do you cover the whole San Bernardino County area?
Yes. The contractors we match on cover Ontario and the surrounding towns, so if you are just outside the city limits it still works.
How many contractors will contact me?
Up to three. That is a hard cap, not a guideline. Three is enough to compare and few enough that your phone stays usable.
Should I take the cheapest quote?
Not automatically. Put the quotes side by side on layers, not on totals — underlayment, ice-and-water, drip edge, valley treatment, ventilation, decking allowance, warranty. Cheap usually means less of those, not the same roof for less money.
Can I stay in the house while it is done?
Yes, though it is loud, and things will fall off shelves in the garage. Move cars out of the driveway and take anything fragile off the walls of the top floor.
How long should a roof last here?
Rated life and real life are different numbers. Here, ordinary rated life is a fair guide, provided the attic breathes. Ventilation and the quality of the installation move that more than the brand does.
Are you a roofing company?
No. Summit Roof Pros of Ontario is a free matching service. We do not hold a roofing licence, we do not employ crews, and we never come to your house. We pass your request to independent local contractors who do the work and who you hire directly.
What is it going to cost?
No cost, no obligation, and never more than three contractors.
